The Hellenic Navy (HN) (Greek: Πολεμικό Ναυτικό, Polemikó Naftikó, abbreviated ΠΝ) is the naval force of Greece, part of the Greek Armed Forces. The modern Greek navy has its roots in the naval forces of various Aegean Islands, which fought in the Greek War of Independence. Greek diplomat dies in fall under Thai train

A diplomat from the Greek Embassy in Thailand died Wednesday after she fell under a moving train, officials said.
Thailand's state railway said the accident occurred on a train in Kanchanaburi, an area famous for its natural beauty and a bridge built by Western prisoners during World War II memorialized in the book and movie "The Bridge on the River Kwai."
It said the diplomat got off the train during a stop to take a photo, then tried to get back on after it had started moving, but failed and fell underneath. It said she was taken to a hospital but was too severely injured to survive.
An official at the Greek Embassy confirmed the death, but withheld the victim's name pending notification of her family. [The Associated Press]
