The Hellenic Navy (HN) (Greek: Πολεμικό Ναυτικό, Polemikó Naftikó, abbreviated ΠΝ) is the naval force of Greece, part of the Greek Armed Forces. The modern Greek navy has its roots in the naval forces of various Aegean Islands, which fought in the Greek War of Independence. During the periods of monarchy (1833–1924 and 1936–1973) it was known as the Royal Navy (Βασιλικόν Ναυτικόν, Vasilikón Naftikón, abbreviated ΒΝ).The total displacement of all the navy's vessels is approximately 150,000 tons.The motto of the Hellenic Navy is "Μέγα το της Θαλάσσης Κράτος" from Thucydides' account of Pericles' oration on the eve of the Peloponnesian War. Ελληνικό πλοίο στις ερεθνες για το .Μπόινγκ 777 ..[ 3830 ]

Το ELKA Athina

Ελληνικό φορτηγό πλοίο με την επωνυμία ELKA Athina της European Product Carriers που πλέει στα στενά της Μάλακας έλαβε σήμα, μαζί με άλλα παραπλέοντα πλοία, από παράκτιο σταθμό της Ινδονησίας να σπεύσει σε συγκεκριμένη περιοχή προκειμένου να ελέγξει επιπλέοντα αντικείμενα που μοιάζουν με βαλίτσες. Tα αντικείμενα ενδέχεται να ανήκουν στο μοιραίο Μπόινγκ της Malaysia Airlines που εξαφανίστηκε πριν οχτώ ημέρες.

Το πλοίο αναμένεται να φτάσει κατά τις 5 το απόγευμα στη συγκεκριμένη περιοχή.

Ο αριθμός των χωρών που εμπλέκονται στις έρευνες για το Μπόινγκ 777 των Μαλαισιανών Αερογραμμών έχει φθάσει τις 25, για τις επιχειρήσεις που καλύπτουν μεγάλο εύρος, στη θάλασσα και στην ξηρά, ανακοίνωσε στο μεταξύ η Μαλαισία.

Η συνεργασία περιλαμβάνει δορυφορικά και στρατιωτικά δεδομένα, ενδεχομένως ευαίσθητα, με τις χώρες αυτές, ανάμεσά τους οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, η Κίνα και η Γαλλία.

"Ελπίζουμε με αυτό τον τρόπο ότι τα μέρη που μπορούν να μας συνδράμουν θα βοηθήσουν να στοχεύσουμε καλύτερα τη ζώνη των ερευνών", δήλωσε ο υπουργός Άμυνας και Μεταφορών.

Από την πλευρά της, η Γαλλία θα στείλει τρεις ειδικευμένους ερευνητές για να συμμετάσχουν στις έρευνες για το Μπόινγκ 777 ανακοίνωσε το υπουργείο Μεταφορών της χώρας.
