The latest NASA "Image of the Day" image.
The world's largest vacuum chamber resides at the NASA Glenn Research Center's Space Power Facility, located at Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio.
/
It measures 100 feet in diameter and towers 122 feet height.
.
The chamber's immense size and ability to simulate the vacuum of space make it ideal for testing space flight vehicles.
.
Pictured here are the doors of the test chamber, which are 50 X 50 feet and have double seals to sustain the vacuum environment.
