Δυστυχώς στο μυαλό του Νεοέλληνα αυτό είναι συμβιβασμένο και έχουμε αυτά τα λυπηρά φαινόμενα.Θυμάμαι συμφοιτητές μου αλλά και σύγχρονους φοιτητές μου να εξοργίζονται γιατί ένας 50 χρονος ερχόταν να σπουδάσει όπως και γιατί ένας που έχει καρκίνο θέλει να σπουδάσει.
Δυστυχώς για τον Νεοέλληνα η λέξη Παιδεία και Γνώση δεν έχει κανένα μα κανένα απολύτως νόημα.

Ο Πτυχιούχος Δημήτρη αν δεν σπούδαζε διότι περιορίζαμε τις θέσεις τι θα έκανε;
Δεν θα έπιανε μια δουλειά για να φάει;
Τι τον εμποδίζει να το κάνει αυτό μετά από τέσσερα χρόνια;
Τι αλλάζει και μετά από τέσσερα χρόνια δεν μπορεί να κάνει καμία δουλειά εκτός από σερβιτόρος ή καφενόβιος;
Αντί να στηλιτεύσουμε αυτή την νοοτροπία, καθόμαστε και προσπαθούμε να βρούμε τρόπους να κάνουμε πιο ελιτίστικη την εισαγωγή στα πανεπιστήμια.

Αν είχαμε καπιταλιστική κοινωνία και όχι μία Νεοελληνική Σοβιετία τότε θα είχαμε πτυχιούχους που θα εργαζόταν όλοι και θα προωθούσαν και την έρευνα και την ανάπτυξη και θα μεταφέραν τις γνώσεις τους σε χιλιάδες τομείς της ζωής.
Αντ' αυτού στην καθ'ημας Σοβιετία το μόνο που θέλουμε είναι ένα πτυχίο και μία θέση υπαλλήλου κάπου.
Πόσοι από τους πτυχιούχους ρισκάραν ποτέ;
Πόσοι από τους πτυχιούχους δεν έχουν την λογική κουράστικα ένα χρόνο στα δεκαοκτώ μου και μετά οφείλουν οι πάντες να με ακριβοπληρώνουν για αυτό.
Γιατί ένας δάσκαλος, ένας φιλόλογος, ένας αρχαιολόγος πχ θα πρέπει σε ένα καπιταλιστικό κράτος να έχει σαν μόνη δραστηριότητα το να διοριστεί σε ένα δημόσιο σχολείο;
Γιατί με τόσους άνεργους πτυχιούχους φιλόλογους δεν έχουμε την Ελληνίδα Rosseta Stone;

Όσο για την γκρίνια περί φυγής μυαλών στο εξωτερικό είναι κάτι που το ακούω χρόνια τώρα.
Ναι στο εξωτερικό είναι τα πράγματα καλύτερα από άποψη αμοιβών.
Οι οικονομίες τους είναι δομημένες έτσι ώστε να έχουν αρκετές θέσεις πτυχιούχων, όπως η Ελλάδα έχει αρκετές θέσεις ανειδίκευτων εργατών. Όπως οι μετανάστες βρίσκουν θέσεις στην Ελλάδα έτσι και οι Έλληνες πτυχιούχοι βρίσκουν θέσεις στο εξωτερικό. Τίποτα περισσότερο, τίποτα λιγότερο.

Ούτε την τεράστια πρωτοπορία παράγουν ούτε τίποτα άλλο. Όπως ο λαθρομετανάστης θα έρθει στην Ελλάδα και θα μάθει να δουλεύει τρακτέρ, έτσι και ο Έλληνας πτυχιούχος θα πάει στο εξωτερικό να δουλεύει το αντίστοιχο "τρακτερ" της επιστήμης του.
Ας πάψουμε να βαυκαλιζόμαστε για πρωτοπόρα μυαλά και άλλα φαιδρά.

Σε μία χώρα που έχει ανεργία όποιος έχει την δυνατότητα να βρεί δουλειά εκτός συνόρων το κάνει.
Εφόσον η Ευρώπη δεν θέλει εργάτες θα παίρνει υπαλλήλους.

Bomb threat to plane

(CNN) -- Two Canadian fighter jets on Saturday escorted a Cathay Pacific Airways flight into Vancouver International Airport in response to a bomb threat to the plane, authorities said, though they later determined there was no threat aboard the aircraft.
"A security issue raised on the ground in Vancouver meant extra security for the aircraft inbound to the airport and upon arrival," Gus Whitcomb, a spokesman for Cathay Pacific, said in a statement. "We are not aware of any issues arising on board the aircraft itself."
Cpl. Sherrdean Turley of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the fighter jets were scrambled after authorities received a bomb threat at 10:43 a.m. (1:43 p.m. ET).
The plane landed safely at 1:35 p.m. (4:35 p.m. ET), said Alisa Gloag, a spokeswoman for the Vancouver Airport Authority.

Passengers were deplaned and the aircraft was towed to another area for further inspection, she said.
There was "no indication" of explosives on the plane, RCMP Sgt. Peter Thiessen told CNN.

An investigation by the RCMP is under way, Turley said.

DID RUSSIAN SOLDIERS KILL SURVIVORS ON POLISH PRESIDENT'S PLANE AFTER CRASH?

INVESTIGATORS of the air tragedy which killed Polish president Lech Kaczynski are analysing internet footage of what appears to show survivors being shot at the crash site.

The blurred film clip, which was taken on a mobile phone, is being examined by Polish and Russian experts amid claims it was digitally manipulated to embarrass Moscow.

The film was initially shown on Rossiya-24 TV two days after the Tupolev Tu-154 plane crashed near Smolensk military airport in Russia on April 10, killing the 96 people on board. The clip did not appear to include shooting sounds now heard on the internet version.

There is also shouting heard in Russian to “kill” survivors on the web clip, which was not on the earlier footage. 

The TV station denied masking any gunfire and said they merely edited out a swear word.

Last night, Russian officials confirmed they had interviewed the man who allegedly made the film. He was not named, nor has he spoken in public about whether he heard gunfire.

Sources do not rule out that bullets from weapons carried by armed presidential bodyguards may have exploded in the burning wreckage. Investigators say seven pistols were found at the site.

An aviation expert said: “The way this footage has spread on the web means it is essential to get answers on which version of the footage has been altered.

“What is clear is the scenes shown on several versions of the film are from this crash site.”

But sources deny there was any deliberate shooting or that any of the high-level Polish government and military entourage, along with the president’s wife Maria, survived the crash.

Billionaire Khodorkovsky  jailed for opposing Kremlin

Moscow, Russia (CNN) -- Russia's most famous prisoner, and once its richest citizen, says the latest corruption charges against him are designed to prevent his release from jail.
Mikhail Khodorkovsky, head of the giant Yukos oil company, has been jailed since his arrest, as his private jet was about to take off, in 2003. He was charged with fraud and tax evasion and subsequently sentenced to nine years behind bars. A Moscow court later reduced the sentence to eight years.

At the time of his arrest Khodorkovsky had been funding opposition political parties and considered running for public office himself.
He claims his trial was part of a Kremlin campaign to destroy him and take the company he built from privatization deals of the 1990s. The Kremlin has denied this.
Yukos, once the country's biggest oil producer, eventually went bankrupt in 2006 as a result of a $27.5 billion back-tax bill. A Russian court also ordered Khodorkovsky and his partner to pay about $600 million in back taxes.
But in March last year, when Khodorkovsky and his business partner Platon Lebedev, who was also arrested in 2003 and sentenced to eight years, had only two years left on their sentences, they went on trial on new charges of embezzlement and money laundering.

In an exclusive interview with CNN, Khodorkovsky maintained his innocence, insisting it is the charges that are fraudulent.

CNN was denied access to the former tycoon but managed to get written questions to him in his jail cell and he was able to respond.

Why have these new charges been brought against you? Do you suspect political motives?

The new charges have been brought to prevent my release from prison. They are undoubtedly politically-motivated since they have no merit whatsoever. To date, the prosecutors have failed to explain where they got the idea that all the oil produced by Yukos had been stolen. And that is exactly what I have been accused of.

Are you simply defending yourself and your former business, or is there a bigger principle at stake?

It was a painful experience for me to see my perfectly functional company laid to waste. However it is all history now. It is common knowledge today that things like a ban on businesses to finance independent opposition [parties], widespread illegal takeovers of property in Russia, and a manifold increase in corruption-motivated arrests of businessmen (their businesses are then seized), all began with the Yukos case.
Since Yukos was first seized, the cost of corruption in the [Russian] economy has grown from $30 billion to $240-300 billion. My trial is both a landmark and a symbol for this country.

Has your time in prison served any positive purpose?

At a certain point in my life I realized that I personally needed to do something to help build civil society in this country. However it was difficult for me to break free from what was a comfortable business routine, both psychologically and in terms of the public's perception of me. In that particular sense, prison has given me a chance to stop and rethink my values.

To what extent has this become a personal battle between you and Vladimir Putin?

Clearly, Putin finds me more than disagreeable. It's difficult for me to say to what extent my persecution and prosecution are based on political calculations, self-interest, or emotion. As for me, my career in business has taught me to keep my emotions under control.

What does your legal situation say about the rule of law in Russia?

There is not one serious-minded individual in Russia right now who would tell you that this trial is lawful. There is talk of whether such methods of achieving political goals are acceptable, and whether the goals are appropriate in the first place.

That the motives are political is no longer -- and hasn't been for a long time -- a subject for discussion. The legally sophisticated part of [Russian] society has also reached a consensus that charges against me are knowingly absurd. Therefore even answering a question about rule of law would be redundant.
