Egypt rejected the Erdogan to visit the Gaza Strip

Ankara has a strong pressure on the Egyptian authorities to obtain permission to visit the Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Gaza Strip through Egyptian territory. In an article published in the American edition of The Wall Street Journal, stated that Egypt rejected the request of the Turkish side for reasons of national security.

Egyptian authorities have not been fully secured the border checkpoint “Rafah”. American Edition says that this has caused a negative response from the Egyptian side to have recourse to official Ankara, said the newspaper Vatan.

Note that Erdogan will visit 12 September with an official visit to Egypt, where he will meet with the President of the Supreme Military Council and Minister of defence of Egypt Mohammad H. Tantawi and the Prime Minister Isamom Sharaf. As a result of the meeting is expected to sign a bilateral agreement on conducting joint military exercises.
