The Hellenic Navy (HN) (Greek: Πολεμικό Ναυτικό, Polemikó Naftikó, abbreviated ΠΝ) is the naval force of Greece, part of the Greek Armed Forces. The modern Greek navy has its roots in the naval forces of various Aegean Islands, which fought in the Greek War of Independence. During the periods of monarchy (1833–1924 and 1936–1973) it was known as the Royal Navy (Βασιλικόν Ναυτικόν, Vasilikón Naftikón, abbreviated ΒΝ).The total displacement of all the navy's vessels is approximately 150,000 tons.The motto of the Hellenic Navy is "Μέγα το της Θαλάσσης Κράτος" from Thucydides' account of Pericles' oration on the eve of the Peloponnesian War. This has been roughly translated as "Great is the country that controls the sea". The Hellenic Navy's emblem consists of an anchor in front of a crossed Christian cross and trident, with the cross symbolizing Greek Orthodoxy, and the trident symbolizing Poseidon, the god of the sea in Greek mythology. Pericles' words are written across the top of the emblem. "The navy, as it represents a necessary weapon for Greece, should only be created for war and aim to victory."...............The Hellenic Merchant Marine refers to the Merchant Marine of Greece, engaged in commerce and transportation of goods and services universally. It consists of the merchant vessels owned by Greek civilians, flying either the Greek flag or a flag of convenience. Greece is a maritime nation by tradition, as shipping is arguably the oldest form of occupation of the Greeks and a key element of Greek economic activity since the ancient times. Εκλογές στη Βουλγαρία- πρώτα exit polls [ 162 ]

Με μεγάλη διαφορά φαίνεται να κερδίζει στις βουλευτικές εκλογές στη Βουλγαρία το κεντροδεξιό κόμμα GERB της αντιπολίτευσης. Σύμφωνα με τα αποτελέσματα της ψηφοφορίας κατά της έξοδο των εκλογέων από τα εκλογικά τμήματα-exit poll- το GERB κερδίζει 117 έδρες στην αποτελούμενη από 240 έδρες Βουλή έναντι 39 του κυβερνώντος Σοσιαλιστικού Κόμματος.

Σύμφωνα με τα exit poll που διεξήχθησαν από την Alpha Research και την Sova Harris, το GERB του δημάρχου της Σόφιας Μπόικο Μπορίσοφ συγκεντρώνει ποσοστό 38,5% ως 41% και οι Σοσιαλιστές από 17,9% ως 18,4%.

Οι ίδιες έρευνες έδειξαν ότι οι σύμμαχοι των Σοσιαλιστών, το MRF, έρχεται τρίτο με 13,5% και το υπερεθνικιστικό Κόμμα Επίθεση τέταρτο με 9,2%. Πέμπτο κόμμα είναι το δεξιό Μπλε Συνασπισμός, με 7,5%.

Τα επίσημα αποτελέσματα αναμένονται αύριο.

«Πρόκειται για σοβαρή νίκη των δεξιών κομμάτων», δήλωσε ο Πέταρ Μοσκόφ, εκπρόσωπος του Μπλε Συνασπισμού. «Είναι η μεγάλη επιστροφή των δεξιών κομμάτων και ψήφος τιμωρίας για τον απερχόμενο συνασπισμό».

Πολιτικοί αναλυτές πάντως δεν ήταν σε θέση να απαντήσουν αν το κόμμα του Μπορίσοφ θα έχει την απόλυτη πλειοψηφία. Ο Μπλε Συνασπισμός έχει δηλώσει ότι θα δεχόταν να ενταχθεί σε κυβέρνηση συνασπισμού υπό τον Μπορίσοφ.

Αν και η σοσιαλιστική κυβέρνηση του απερχόμενου πρωθυπουργού Σεργκέι Στανίσεφ διασφάλισε την είσοδο της Βουλγαρίας στην Ε.Ε., επικρίθηκε έντονα για αδυναμία στην αντιμετώπιση της διαφθοράς και στην βελτίωση της ποιότητας ζωής των 7,6 εκατομμυρίων κατοίκων της χώρας.

Η Βουλγαρία είναι η πιο φτωχή χώρα της Ε.Ε..
