The Hellenic Navy (HN) (Greek: Πολεμικό Ναυτικό, Polemikó Naftikó, abbreviated ΠΝ) is the naval force of Greece, part of the Greek Armed Forces. The modern Greek navy has its roots in the naval forces of various Aegean Islands, which fought in the Greek War of Independence. During the periods of monarchy (1833–1924 and 1936–1973) it was known as the Royal Navy (Βασιλικόν Ναυτικόν, Vasilikón Naftikón, abbreviated ΒΝ).The total displacement of all the navy's vessels is approximately 150,000 tons.The motto of the Hellenic Navy is "Μέγα το της Θαλάσσης Κράτος" from Thucydides' account of Pericles' oration on the eve of the Peloponnesian War. Και...σεισμοί [ 87 ]

Σεισμική δόνηση 4,2 Ρίχτερ στο ΒΔ Αιγαίο

Σεισμική δόνηση σημειώθηκε στις 12 το μεσημέρι και έγινε αισθητή σε αρκετές περιοχές της Αχαΐας, της Κορινθίας, της Αιτωλοακαρνανίας και της Φωκίδας.

Σύμφωνα με το Γεωδυναμικό Ινστιτούτο του Αστεροσκοπείου Αθηνών, η δόνηση είχε μέγεθος 4,2 βαθμών της κλίμακας Ρίχτερ και το επίκεντρό της εντοπίστηκε 150 χιλιόμετρα δυτικά της Αθήνας και ειδικότερα, στο θαλάσσιο χώρο βορειοδυτικά του Αιγίου.

Ζημιές σε ξενοδοχείο στην περιοχή Λαμπίρι Αιγιάλειας, από το σεισμό των 4,2 βαθμών της κλίμακας Ρίχτερ, που σημειώθηκε στις 12 το μεσημέρι, διαπίστωσαν τα μέλη κλιμακίου της Πυροσβεστικής Υπηρεσίας.

Το ξενοδοχείο επισκέφθηκε ήδη στέλεχος της Πολιτικής Προστασίας της Νομαρχίας Αχαΐας, ενώ αναμένονται μηχανικοί για να προβούν σε λεπτομερή έλεγχο, προκειμένου να διαπιστωθεί αν οι ένοικοι μπορούν να παραμείνουν ή να αλλάξουν κατάλυμα.

Ισχυρός σεισμός 6 Ρίχτερ στην Καραϊβική
Δεν υπήρξαν θύματα ενώ δεν εκδόθηκε προειδοποίηση για τσουνάμι.

Iσχυρή σεισμική δόνηση μεγέθους 6 βαθμών της κλίμακας Ρίχτερ σημειώθηκε αργά χθες στον Ατλαντικό, ανατολικά της Καραϊβικής, ανακοινώθηκε σήμερα από το αμερικανικό Ινστιτούτο Γεωφυσικής.

Ο σεισμός σημειώθηκε σε απόσταση 1.802 χιλιομέτρων ΒΑ του Σαιντ Τζονς, της πρωτεύουσας της Αντίγκουα και σε βάθος δέκα χιλιομέτρων, στις 23:33 ώρα Ελλάδας. Δεν αναφέρθηκαν θύματα η ζημιές ούτε εκδόθηκεπροειδοποίηση για τσουνάμι.
